Container Track & Trace follows every box through your digitisation floor, from arrival to back on the shelf, and lets your clients watch it happen.
Container Track & Trace is a SmartImage solution built into Leap for digitisation bureaus and scanning centres. A box is registered as a container the moment it arrives, together with the subfolders and subcontainers inside it, and is then checked through every stage of digitisation: prepping, scanning, reverse prepping, verification and export. When it goes back on the shelf, every page registered at arrival is accounted for, and your client never had to ask where it was.
Each container is recorded as it enters the centre, down to the subfolders and subcontainers inside it, so the trace starts before the lid comes off.
Prepping, scanning, reverse prepping, verification and export: every move is a time-stamped check-in, for the box and its contents.
A one-page report, on request or on a schedule, shows exactly where their boxes are, what is in processing and where the holdups sit.
Six check-ins carry every container through the floor. Because registration captured what was inside, the end of the process is an accounting, not a hope: pages in, pages digitised, box returned.
The container is recorded on arrival, with its subcontainers and subfolders.
Checked into prepping; contents made scan-ready, staples out, order kept.
Checked into scanning; every page digitised against the container's record.
Checked back into reverse prepping; the box restored exactly as it arrived.
Checked into verification; quality and data confirmed, errors surfaced per box.
Checked into export; the digital output delivered, the box back on the shelf.
Every container gets its record the moment it arrives: identity, contents, subfolders and subcontainers, the baseline every later stage answers to.
Prepping, scanning, reverse prepping, verification and export each record the container in and out, time-stamped and attributable.
Where the boxes are, what is in processing, where the holdups sit, where digitisation errors live and what waits on verification or export, on request or on schedule.
Because subcontainers are registered, any container can be opened on screen to see exactly which folder is at which stage.
What was registered at arrival is reconciled against what was digitised, so a box returns to the shelf with nothing unexplained.
Built into Leap's production floor, and complementary to Trakem, which takes over the long-term custody of records after digitisation.
Strongest fits: Digitisation bureaus · In-house scanning centres · Records digitisation projects with SLAs, audits and impatient clients
pages digitised on SmartImage since 2014 SmartImage has powered bureau digitisation since 2018, from national registration archives to bank records. Container Track & Trace is the floor discipline behind that scale: every box registered, every stage recorded, every page accounted for.
